The notary Otto Wirz (president of the Board of Directors and owner of Wifag Bern) purchases the Fribourg company Ruch, and Polytype is founded. |
| 1962 |
Work begins at Polytype Fribourg as an affiliate of Wifag Bern, headed by Alfred Brauen. The creation of a tin can printing machine was Polytype's first project. |
| 1979 |
Battista Corti replaces Alfred Brauen as Managing Director. |
| 1990 |
Purchase of the company American Production Machine, now called Polytype America Corp. |

Mr Alvin Cohan started a machine shop by the name of American Production Machine Co. or APM in Union City, NJ. The main purpose was to support the local Embroidery Industry. |
| 1958 |
APM purchased the first Dry Offset Printers from Wifag in Switzerland. |
| 1968 |
APM becomes the Exclusive Agent for Polytype SA in the USA and Canada. |
| 1990 |
Polytype SA acquired American Production Machine Co. and changed the name to Polytype America Corp. or PAC

1999
|
PAC moves from Union City, NJ to Mahwah, NJ. |
| 2004 |
PAC becomes the Exclusive agent for Isimat GmbH Screen Printing Equipment for the Cosmetics and Packaging Industry in North and South America.
